Support Brewing Scholarships from North Coast Brewing Company and UC Davis

According to a recent survey by the Brewers Association, more than 88% of U.S. craft brewery owners and 89% of brewers are Caucasian (and majority male).

As an industry, as a beer-loving community, we can do better – and we need your help.

North Coast Brewing Company and UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education are partnering to create diversity-focused scholarships to the world-renowned UC Davis Master Brewers Certificate Program. As our CEO, Jeff Ottoboni says, “We have an obligation to our employees, our community and our world to do what is right at all times and in this case, the best way to do that – to create meaningful, long-lasting change – is through education.”

How Can I Help?

• Donate! — There are two opportunities to financially support the scholarships:
  • • • A direct donation to our Mark E. Ruedrich North Coast Brewing Diversity Scholarship (Funds donated to this will go directly to growing the endowment that North Coast Brewing Company has set up with UC Davis, and the link takes you to the donation page which is open for donations now.
      • or a contribution to “Pour It Forward,” a crowdfunding campaign that runs 10/1-10/31. (Funds raised for the diversity scholarship will benefit the upcoming program in the Spring)
• Spread the Word! — Share “Pour it Forward” with your friends and followers, either by amplifying our social posts (follow us at North Coast Brewing Facebook and  UC Davis CPE Brewing Facebook) or creating your own. Crowdfunding is driven by social media support, so anything you can do to help is hugely appreciated.
