FORT BRAGG, CA., (May 1, 2023) – As a Certified B Corp, North Coast Brewing Company (NCBC) works hard every day to fulfill its commitment to the environment, its employees, and the community. This week NCBC released its 2022 Sustainability Report, continuing the story of how NCBC is supporting its mission of Making the World a Better Place, One Pint at a Time.
The 2022 Sustainability Report looks at the year in review, highlighting NCBC’s Commitment to the Community. The support for the People of Ukraine, music education through the Monterey Jazz Festival’s Education programs, and funding the Mark E. Ruedrich North Coast Brewing Diversity Scholarship at UC Davis were important programs to their employees and fans.
“In recent years, many businesses have embraced sustainability as a company value. At North Coast Brewing Company, we consider sustainability an imperative, and we are always focused on finding ways to improve our practices.”– Jennifer Owen, CEO/CFO.
When NCBC says their Beer Does More, they mean it. While brewing their award-winning beer in the brewhouse, their rooftop solar array generated 113,378 kWh in 2022 to offset their carbon footprint. That’s a 32% increase over 2021.
“In 2022 we diverted more than 98% of our solid waste away from landfills, maintaining our TRUE Zero Waste Platinum certification.” – Chuck Martins, Brewmaster.
As NCBC heads into its 35th year of brewing delicious craft beer near the Pacific Ocean in Fort Bragg, California, it continues to work on ways to improve its sustainability thresholds. When consumers open a cold bottle or can of NCBC beer, they can be assured that the beer they are drinking does more than just quench their thirst. The fact that NCBC’s core brands are verified by the non-GMO Project is one more way to feel good about what is in their food.
